I love Creating.
I’m always a little surprised when someone says, “I’m not creative”. It’s usually after I’ve witnessed them doing something pretty danged nifty! I don’t think creativity is intrinsic. It isn’t necessarily something people are born with. Maybe some people are. But, most of us learn how to be crafty.
Honestly, the best advice I can give to someone who wants to learn to be creative is, “Just try“. What is the worst that will happen? You will need to take your project apart and start over? OK! The second, third, or 18th try may be your best! Maybe you will have a mental block right in the middle of the project and feel like giving up. Set it aside and come back to it later! Maybe you will even accidentally paint your hand. No problem…
My second greatest advice for those who are crafty challenged is to look for items that really catch your eye. When you are at a flea market, thrift shop, or yard sale, and you see an item you like that may become something you love, but it! Pinterest has changed all the rules. Google, Pin Search, and Otherwise-Investigate what can be done with your new found item. Chances are, you’ll find something out there you can make out of it. Before you know it, you will have oodles of things you made by using things you liked!
Maybe you will even find something I made that will serve as your inspiration. Nothing about this blog would please me more ❤
